Best Claude Code mods by category
A live shortlist by purpose
The lists below come from published entries in the directory. They refresh from the database rather than copying a fixed list of repository names. Within each category, votes and GitHub stars help order the shortlist. They measure community interest, not an independent test or endorsement.
Choose by the problem you have
Start with the category closest to your workflow: costs, safety, notifications or debugging. Read the installation instructions and the original source before trying a candidate. Consider maintenance and version compatibility alongside popularity. A less popular but focused mod can be a better fit than a broad dashboard.
Check before installing
Inspect permission findings, verify supported CLI versions and test in a disposable project. If a category is empty, use its browse link later rather than interpreting the absence as a recommendation. Resource entries may explain a technique instead of providing installable software.
