About this mod

clawd-hud is a Claude Code desktop mod that shows a pixel-art usage band above the input box on the Code page, with a pixel Clawd that acts according to Claude's state.

Features:

• Grid progress bars for context, the 5-hour limit, and the weekly limit
• The 5-hour limit burn rate and whether it will last until reset
• Current-session spend, last-turn duration, output token count, and cache hit rate
• Pixel Clawd actions for thinking, tool calls, writing, reading and searching files, waiting for approval, context compaction, subagents, background commands, writing a reply, errors, interruption, idle time, and limits running low or exhausted

Details:

• Reads only Claude Code usage data already on the machine and consumes no extra token
• Appears only on the desktop Code page and is drawn as SVG; the terminal shows no band or limit alerts

Install:

claude plugin marketplace add segfaultlab/clawd-hud
claude plugin install clawd-hud@clawd-hud

After installation, start a new desktop session. Enable automatic updates, or run marketplace/plugin update manually.

For local development, use claude --plugin-dir /path/to/clawd-hud, run tests with claude plugin test ., and regenerate the README preview with node scripts/preview.ts.
