Claude is also no longer told to add them, so they mostly stop showing up at all. 2. **Lazy subjects.** A subject like `fix`, `wip`, `update`, `stuff`, a single word, anything over 72 characters, or anything without a conventional prefix (`feat|fix|chore|docs|refactor|test|perf|build|ci|style`) is rewritten from the actual diff by a fast model: ``` commit-coach: 'fix' → 'fix(scheduler): handle empty slot list' ``` Your own body is kept if you wrote one; the model only adds a short body when there was none. If the model's answer is not a clean conventional subject of 72 characters or less, your message goes through as it was, and a toast says so.

A Claude Code mod that shows the changes in **every git repo in a folder** in one pane.
An in-process `tool.call` mod that denies Bash git commands which silently discard uncommitted work. It is the mod form of `hooks/git-guard.sh` and replaces it once cut over, saving the shell forks that script cost on every Bash call (about 34 ms per call, against under a microsecond here).
Refuses a git commit that carries a value you listed as private.
Uncommitted files and time since last commit in the status line, with a nudge after editing turns
A Claude Code plugin that shows a red warning band when you are on a protected branch or in a production environment, and blocks irreversible git operations like force-push and reset --hard there.

A Reddit post showcasing a Claude Code mod that adds a VS Code-style Source Control panel: a status band above the chat box (branch, pull/push counts, changed files) with one context-aware action button, plus a side panel for staging, committing, history graph, branches, worktrees and stashes. Merge conflicts get a dedicated section that can be handed to Claude.
