Valet Mode

다른 사람이 PC 앞에 있을 때 사용하는 보기 전용 모드입니다. 자동차의 발렛 키처럼 Claude의 질문과 답변은 조작할 수 있지만 트렁크는 열 수 없습니다.

  • /valet on 4821은 직접 고른 4자 이상 코드를 사용해 켭니다.
  • /valet off 4821은 끕니다. 코드가 틀리면 켜진 상태로 남습니다.
  • /valet은 켜져 있는지 알려 줍니다.

켜져 있는 동안에도 Claude는 파일을 읽고 검색하고 질문에 답할 수 있습니다. 하지만 파일을 편집하거나 쓰거나 셸 명령을 실행하거나 이메일 전송처럼 사용자를 대신해 작동하는 커넥터를 사용할 수 없습니다. 프롬프트 위에는 노란 VALET MODE 밴드가 표시되어 켜져 있다는 사실을 잊지 않게 합니다.

이미 열려 있는 창을 포함해 PC의 모든 Claude Code 창을 한 번에 잠그며, 각 창에 몇 초 안에 밴드가 나타납니다. 재시작 후에도 계속 켜져 있으므로 Claude Code를 닫아도 잠금이 풀리지 않습니다. 잠금과 코드는 자신의 컴퓨터 사용자 폴더에 있는 작은 파일 .claude/rostech/valet-mode.json에 보관됩니다. 파일이 손상되면 Valet Mode는 열리지 않고 잠긴 상태를 유지합니다. 책상 앞의 손님을 위한 간단한 잠금이지 보안 시스템은 아닙니다. 아무것도 외부로 보내지 않습니다.

Claude Code 2.1.288에서 테스트되었습니다.

Valet Mode

A look-only mode for when someone else is at your PC. Like the valet key for a car: they can drive Claude's questions and answers, but they cannot open the trunk.

  • /valet on 4821 turns it on with a code you pick, 4 characters or more.
  • /valet off 4821 turns it off. The wrong code leaves it on.
  • /valet says whether it is on.

While it is on, Claude can still read files, search and answer questions. It cannot edit or write files, run shell commands, or use connectors that act for you, such as sending email. A yellow VALET MODE band sits above the prompt so nobody forgets it is on.

It locks every Claude Code window on the PC at once, including windows that were already open, and the band shows up in each of them within a couple of seconds. It stays on through a restart, so closing Claude Code does not unlock it. The lock and its code are kept in one small file on your own machine, .claude/rostech/valet-mode.json in your user folder. If that file is damaged, Valet Mode stays locked rather than opening up. It is a simple lock for a guest at your desk, not a security system. It sends nothing anywhere.

Tested with Claude Code 2.1.288.
