git-status는 my-mods 마켓플레이스에 포함된 작은 Claude Code 플러그인으로, 모드 레이블 옆 푸터에 세션 작업 폴더의 git 상태를 표시합니다. 현재 브랜치（detached HEAD이면 짧은 커밋 해시）, 커밋하지 않은 항목（수정, 스테이징, 이름 변경, 충돌, 추적되지 않음）수를 ?로 표시하고 푸시하지 않은 커밋 수를 ?로 표시합니다. 지표는 0이 아닐 때만 나타나며 git 저장소 밖에서는 아무것도 표시하지 않습니다. 세션 시작, 모든 프롬프트 뒤, Bash/Edit/Write 도구 호출 뒤, 폴더가 바뀔 때 상태를 새로 고칩니다. Bash 명령 안의 cd도 스스로 따라갑니다. git status --porcelain=v2 --branch를 실행하고 선택적 잠금을 끄며 5 s 시간 제한을 사용하므로 저장소를 막지 않습니다. PATH에 git이 있어야 합니다. /plugin marketplace add choas/claude-mods를 실행한 뒤 /plugin install git-status@my-mods, /reload-plugins를 실행해 설치하며 라이선스는 MIT입니다.

Small Claude Code mods that add live info to the footer, next to the mode labels.

Install

In Claude Code, add this marketplace once:

/plugin marketplace add choas/claude-mods

Then install one or both mods:

/plugin install cwd-status@my-mods
/plugin install git-status@my-mods

Run /reload-plugins (or restart Claude Code) and the labels show up in the footer.

You can also browse and install them interactively with /plugin → Marketplaces → my-mods.

cwd-status

Shows 📁 <folder> with your home folder shortened to ~.

  • Follows the session's working folder.
  • When a Bash command cds or pushdes somewhere (cd ../other && make), it shows that folder until the next tool runs.

git-status

Shows the git state of the current folder:

  • ● and ↑ only appear when non-zero; outside a git repo nothing is shown.
  • Refreshes when the session starts, on every prompt (so commits made in another terminal show up), after Bash/Edit/Write tool calls, and when the folder changes.
  • Follows cd inside Bash commands on its own, so it works without cwd-status.
  • Uses git status --porcelain=v2 --branch with optional locks off and a 5 s timeout, so it never blocks your repo.

Requires git on your PATH.

Development

Each mod is a plugin folder with a hooks module (hooks/register.ts), a state contract (types/index.d.ts) and tests:

claude plugin validate git-status
claude plugin test git-status

To try local changes, point Claude Code at the folder: claude --plugin-dir ./git-status.
