# Two small Claude Code mods for the footer line to see usage and toggle skills

Reddit shares two small Claude Code plugins: UsageBar shows usage, weekly limit, and context usage in the footer; QuickSkill (operated with /fav) lets you toggle commonly used plugins at the bottom, using claude plugin enable/disable without restart.

## Description

The author shares two self-developed Claude Code plugins on r/ClaudeCode. UsageBar puts usage information on the footer line, showing a bar chart of the 5-hour limit with reset countdown, weekly limit, context usage level, and session cost when Claude Code reports it, redrawing once per minute. QuickSkill is operated with /fav, letting you pick your most commonly used plugins and display them at the bottom as toggles, with ● meaning on and ○ meaning off; clicking toggles them. It runs claude plugin enable/disable for you and notifies Claude of the change in the next message, so no session restart is needed. Installation is via /plugin install usagebar --marketplace thken3/UsageBar and /plugin install fav --marketplace thken3/QuickSkill; both are small TypeScript hook files with no dependencies.

## Original README

I recently created 2 mods that make /usage and turning on and off skills I often use a lot easier and I figured I'd share them. UsageBar puts your usage on the footer line. It shows the 5 hour limit as a little bar with the time until it resets, weekly limit, how full the context is, and the session cost when Claude Code reports one. It redraws once per minute. QuickSkill (the mod is operated trough /fav) allows you to select your most used plugins to display as on off toggls at the bottom. ● is on, ○ is off, click to flip. It runs `claude plugin enable/disable` for you and tells Claude about the change with your next message, so you don't have to restart the session to enable it. I mostly use it to switch caveman and ponytail on and off depending on what I'm doing. Install: /plugin install usagebar --marketplace thken3/UsageBar /plugin install fav --marketplace thken3/QuickSkill Both are just small TypeScript hook files, no dependencies. submitted by /u/tken3 to r/ClaudeCode [link] [comments]
