# I built Project Sentinel : a Control Room Mod for long Claude Code runs

Project Sentinel is an open-source Claude Code mod for long autonomous runs that separately tracks work progress, context usage with automatic handoffs, and prompt-cache health/expiry. It adds autopilot fresh-context handoffs, cache protection, permissions/guardrails, resource limits, activity, profiles, and an optional companion, and can be installed via the plugin marketplace.

## Description

Project Sentinel is an open-source Claude Code control room mod designed for longer autonomous sessions. It tracks three concerns separately: Work (progress across the whole run), Context (current usage plus automatic handoff before it fills), and Cache (prompt-cache health and expiry). Features include Autopilot fresh-context handoffs, run progress, cache protection, permissions/guardrails, resource limits, Activity, profiles, and an optional small companion. It has been submitted for review to the official Claude plugin directory, but the repository is public and installable now via:

I built Project Sentinel , an open-source Claude Code Mod for longer autonomous runs.
