# I built my mod ecosystem for the CLI: every turn folds to one line, risky commands wait for you, agents get a sidebar

A Reddit r/ClaudeCode post showcasing "moonlight-claude-mods", a set of 13 free open-source (MIT) Claude Code plugins sharing one visual style. Highlights include Transcript (chat bubbles with turns collapsing to a clickable one-liner), Blast Radius (holds risky shell commands like rm -rf or force push until confirmed), sidebar panels for agents/skills/prompts/files, and Wrap Up (session handoff or /compact fill). Installed via a plugin marketplace with a first-run setup card; requires Claude Code 2.1.287+, tested on Windows Terminal and iTerm2.

## Description

The author presents a 13-plugin ecosystem for the Claude Code CLI, all sharing a common look and each working independently. Notable mods: Transcript renders chat bubbles and folds each finished turn into a clickable single line; Blast Radius pauses risky shell commands (rm -rf, force push, DROP TABLE) for user approval; Progress, Skills, Prompts and Files provide sidebar panels for agents, skills, past prompts and touched files; Wrap Up hands work to a fresh session or fills /compact with what to keep. Installation is done through the command `claude plugin install mod-manager --marketplace v-amorim/moonlight-claude-mods`, followed by a setup card above the prompt where mods can be toggled and applied without restart. The author notes Claude Code wrote the hooks, test suites (1,286 tests), design explorations and parallel audits. No mod calls a model in the background unless enabled; mod-manager tracks 7-day spend. All 13 mods are free, MIT-licensed, require Claude Code 2.1.287+, and are tested on Windows Terminal and macOS iTerm2 (Linux untested). Repository: https://github.com/v-amorim/moonlight-claude-mods

## Original README

I use Claude Code all day and kept wanting things the terminal doesn't have, so I built them as plugins, with Claude Code doing most of the writing and testing. 13 mods, one shared look, and each one works without the others. What they do Transcript: chat bubbles, and every finished turn folds to one line you click to open. Blast Radius: a risky shell command (rm -rf, force push, DROP TABLE) waits until you answer. Progress, Skills, Prompts, Files: sidebar panels for your agents, skills, past prompts and the files Claude touched. Wrap Up: one click hands the work to a fresh session, or fills /compact with what to keep. The rest are in the repo. Setup In your terminal: claude plugin install mod-manager --marketplace v-amorim/moonlight-claude-mods Start Claude Code. A card above the prompt says "Claude Code mods are in". Click Open setup, tick the mods you want, click Apply. No restart. How Claude Code helped Code: each mod is a plugin that draws its own UI through Claude Code's plugin hooks. Claude Code wrote the hooks, and I steered the design and the look. Tests: every mod ships a test suite that runs with claude plugin test , 1,286 tests across the 13. Claude Code wrote a failing test first for most bugs, then the fix. Design choices: before building a new look, Claude Code drew 2 or 3 versions as a board in a terminal tab, and I picked one. Checking it for real: Claude Code drove a hidden Claude Code session with the mods loaded, took screenshots and read them, which caught bugs the tests missed (a toast that never showed, text cut at a card edge). Audits: Claude Code ran subagents in parallel to find what a new user would see without my setup, which is where the first-run card and the empty-state messages came from. Costs: no mod calls a model in the background unless you turn that on. Wrap Up uses one when you click it, to write the handoff. Three more can call one, each behind its own setting: a heads-up check, next-step suggestions and an explanation of a held command. mod-manager shows what each one spent over the last 7 days. Free: all 13 are free and open source (MIT). There is no paid tier. Needs Claude Code 2.1.287 or newer. Tested on Windows Terminal and macOS iTerm2. Linux is untested, so reports are welcome. https://github.com/v-amorim/moonlight-claude-mods submitted by /u/vamorim to r/ClaudeCode [link] [comments]
