# glowup: a mod that makes Claude Code look nicer

A Claude Code mod called glowup that restyles the UI with custom colors, borders, spinners, and a side pane showing diffs, subagent activity, and remaining context, plus an animated pet named Clawd. Includes theme packs, a browser studio for creating custom looks, and install via curl script or plugin marketplace from the NovusEdge/glowup GitHub repo.

## Description

The post presents glowup, a Claude Code mod that overhauls the terminal interface: colors, message and tool call rendering, borders, and spinners are all restyled. A side pane displays what changed, active subagents, and remaining context. An animated pet, Clawd, reacts to session events such as editing, multiple subagents running, test failures, test passes, and inactivity. Users can build custom theme packs via a browser studio at glowup.khimani.dev/studio or by asking Claude to generate one from a screenshot or palette. Installation options include a curl one-liner and plugin marketplace commands from the NovusEdge/glowup repository (MIT licensed).

## Original README

I made a mod for Claude Code called glowup . It restyles the whole thing: colors, how messages and tool calls are drawn, borders, spinners, and a side pane that shows what changed, what your subagents are up to, and how much context you have left. There's also a pet, Clawd . He hangs out at the bottom of the pane and reacts to the session: he types when Claude edits, juggles when three or more subagents are running, sweats when a test fails, hops when it passes, and falls asleep if nothing happens for a minute. Everything in the video is a real session. The packs shown is one of my own: oxide You can make your own look in the browser with a live preview, then paste one command into Claude Code: https://glowup.khimani.dev/studio Or just ask Claude to make one from a screenshot or a palette. That skill comes with the mod. Install curl -fsSL https://glowup.khimani.dev/install.sh | sh or from inside Claude Code: /plugin marketplace add NovusEdge/glowup /plugin install glowup@glowup Repo (MIT): https://github.com/NovusEdge/glowup submitted by /u/Bright-Fun-1638 [link] [comments]
